PRO subscription not possible with credits?

I was surprised to log in to HF yesterday to notice that my PRO subscription had abruptly ended.

I was even more surprised to see that the site demanded a credit card to subscribe to PRO, EVEN AS I HAVE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF CREDITS ON MY ACCOUNT.

WTF is this? Tell me it’s a bug and not a shady shakedown? What are my credit-dollars, if they are not currency to pay for my subscription?
